Overview / Job Description

Embrace Software acquires and transforms vertical software businesses through AI-driven innovation, serving Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, banks, and credit unions. The company operates a global portfolio of software businesses and continues to expand through strategic acquisitions.

This role is a full-time remote Controller / Senior Controller position reporting to the Senior Director of Finance. The successful candidate will oversee accounting operations and financial consolidation across multiple entities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and India. The role combines hands-on controllership, financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and systems implementation responsibilities while supporting newly acquired business units and driving financial process improvements.

Responsibilities

Financial Consolidation & Reporting

• Prepare monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements across multiple entities and currencies (USD, CAD, GBP, and INR)
• Maintain intercompany eliminations, management fee allocations, and transfer pricing adjustments
• Reconcile intercompany balances across subsidiaries
• Ensure consistent accounting policies, reporting standards, and close timelines across all entities
• Support accurate and timely financial reporting for leadership and stakeholders

Accounting & Controllership

• Oversee full-cycle accounting activities, including:
  • Accounts Receivable (A/R)
  • Accounts Payable (A/P)
  • Payroll
  • Accruals
  • Account reconciliations
  • Monthly close processes
• Manage accounting operations for shared-service and cost-center entities across multiple countries
• Serve as Controller or Interim Finance Manager for newly acquired businesses when required

Budgeting & Financial Analysis

• Support annual and quarterly budgeting processes for Embrace headquarters
• Monitor expenses and financial performance
• Conduct variance analysis and financial reporting
• Provide insights and recommendations to leadership teams

Tax Compliance

• Oversee GST, HST, and PST compliance and filings for Canadian entities
• Ensure proper indirect tax treatment and coding
• Manage tax reconciliations and recoverability processes
• Support compliance with transfer pricing policies and intercompany transactions

Systems Implementation & Process Improvement

• Lead financial systems implementation and integration for newly acquired businesses
• Configure and standardize financial structures within ERP platforms
• Support automation initiatives and reporting enhancements
• Develop consolidated dashboards and reconciliation processes
• Maintain comprehensive accounting procedures and documentation
• Ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions

Requirements

Experience

• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with multi-entity financial consolidation
• Experience managing full-cycle accounting operations
• Hands-on experience with multi-currency financial reporting
• Experience with intercompany accounting and transfer pricing
• Public accounting experience (audit or assurance) is an advantage
• Experience within SaaS, technology, or software businesses is preferred

Education & Certifications

• CPA designation (or equivalent professional accounting qualification) required

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
• Experience with financial reporting and consolidation processes
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Familiarity with financial systems implementation and integration projects
