Overview / Job Description

Supra Human is seeking a Senior Application Developer to design, develop, and maintain core features across its web and mobile application platforms. This full-time, remote role focuses on backend architecture, API development and integrations, cloud-based services, and full-stack application development using React, Node.js/TypeScript, and mobile technologies.

The successful candidate will own features from concept through deployment, designing scalable backend services, building secure APIs, integrating third-party platforms, and delivering high-quality user experiences across web, Android, and iOS applications while collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Data teams.

Responsibilities

Backend Development & Architecture

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Node.js/TypeScript (or equivalent backend technologies)
• Build and maintain secure REST and GraphQL APIs
• Design data models, API contracts, versioning, and documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger
• Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT
• Build secure, scalable, and reliable backend systems

API Development & Integrations

• Integrate third-party services including payments, messaging, authentication, analytics, and notifications
• Develop reusable API abstractions and adapters
• Implement robust error handling, retries, monitoring, and alerting
• Ensure API reliability, security, and data integrity

Web & Mobile Development

• Develop user-facing features using React (TypeScript)
• Contribute to Android and iOS application development
• Implement offline-first functionality, background synchronization, and push notifications
• Optimize application performance, accessibility, and UI consistency
• Work with state management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, or React Query

DevOps, Testing & Delivery

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions
• Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Participate in release management using Fastlane, TestFlight, and Google Play Console
• Conduct code reviews and maintain high coding standards
• Deliver roadmap features on schedule while ensuring software quality and reliability

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data teams to define project scope and technical solutions
• Estimate development effort and prioritize deliverables
• Communicate technical decisions and progress effectively
• Take ownership of features throughout the entire software development lifecycle

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 6 years of professional software engineering experience
• At least 3 years of experience building production APIs and backend services
• Experience delivering production web and mobile applications
• Proven experience owning software features from design through deployment

Skills & Competencies

• Strong React and TypeScript development skills
• Backend expertise with Node.js/TypeScript (NestJS or Express) or Python (FastAPI or Django)
• Strong REST API and GraphQL design experience
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Knowledge of Redis caching and message queues (SNS, SQS, Kafka, or similar)
• AWS cloud development experience
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code, container deployment, and secrets management
• Strong knowledge of authentication, API security, OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, and data privacy best practices
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks (Jest, Vitest, Playwright, Detox)
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to manage projects independently and deliver high-quality solutions
