Overview / Job Description

Sagan Recruitment is representing a growing U.S.-based company seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to strengthen its accounting and financial operations.

The Controller will take ownership of accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, and accounting processes. The role will also involve managing and developing the accounting team while supporting company leadership with cash-flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger management, and accounting controls, combined with the ability to improve financial processes and provide meaningful business insights to leadership.

Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Month-End Close

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Manage general ledger operations
• Maintain general ledger integrity and accurate reconciliations
• Ensure accounting records are complete and accurate
• Maintain accounting operations within QuickBooks Online
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting activities

Financial Reporting

• Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Oversee financial reporting processes
• Ensure financial information is accurate, consistent, and reliable
• Provide financial insights to company leadership
• Support leadership with business and financial analysis

Financial Controls & Process Improvement

• Maintain strong accounting controls
• Improve accounting processes and workflows
• Strengthen internal controls
• Identify operational inefficiencies within accounting processes
• Implement improvements that increase accuracy and efficiency

Accounting Team Leadership

• Lead and manage the accounting team
• Develop accounting team members
• Establish clear processes and expectations
• Monitor accounting team performance
• Ensure accounting responsibilities are completed accurately and on time

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Support cash-flow forecasting
• Assist with budgeting processes
• Analyze financial performance
• Provide financial information to support business decisions
• Partner with leadership on financial planning and business insights

Requirements

Experience

• Proven experience as a Corporate Controller, Assistant Controller, or equivalent accounting leader
• Strong accounting leadership experience
• Experience owning month-end close processes
• Experience managing general ledger operations
• Experience managing and developing accounting teams
• Strong experience with U.S. GAAP
• Experience with financial reporting
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience
• Demonstrated experience improving accounting processes and internal controls
• Experience supporting cash-flow forecasting and budgeting
