Overview / Job Description

Hire Overseas is seeking an AI Engineer to join a fast-moving AI product development studio focused on building production-ready intelligent software systems for clients. The company specializes in delivering real-world AI solutions rather than experimental proofs of concept, working directly on deployed applications where AI is integrated into core product functionality.

This role is designed for experienced engineers who think in systems, own execution independently, and contribute meaningfully across the full development lifecycle. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with practical experience using modern AI coding tools and frameworks to accelerate development while maintaining production quality.

The role is fully remote and open to candidates located in the Philippines, South Africa, Nigeria, Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia.

Responsibilities:

AI-Native Product Development

• Build and deploy AI-powered applications and systems using LLMs as core application logic
• Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar platforms as part of the primary development workflow
• Work with the Anthropic SDK and AI frameworks to develop context-aware and reliable systems
• Own projects from initial architecture and design through deployment and iteration

Full-Stack Engineering

• Develop production-quality backend and frontend applications using Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript
• Build and maintain APIs, services, and scalable codebase architectures
• Develop functional and visually polished frontend interfaces using React, Vite, and AI-assisted workflows
• Work across cloud and infrastructure environments including GCP, FastAPI, Firestore/Postgres, Cloud Run, and GitHub

Systems Thinking & Technical Delivery

• Translate ambiguous client requirements into structured technical solutions
• Identify and communicate risks early before they escalate
• Document decisions, processes, and technical considerations clearly
• Perform self-review and quality checks before code review stages
• Contribute to end-to-end delivery across multiple client engagements

Requirements:

Experience

• Strong proficiency in Python or JavaScript with working literacy in both
• Experience building and shipping production-ready software applications
• Prior exposure to cloud services, infrastructure, and deployment workflows
• Experience using AI coding assistants daily within software development workflows

Technical Skills

• Strong software engineering fundamentals including architecture, service design, and maintainable code structure
• Experience with frontend and backend development across modern web stacks
• Familiarity with cloud environments and deployment tools
• Ability to develop clean UI interfaces with strong usability and design awareness

AI & Infrastructure Knowledge

• Active use of Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or comparable AI development tools
• Familiarity with LLM-powered applications and AI-driven workflows
• Understanding of context engineering, orchestration frameworks, or AI tooling ecosystems is beneficial

Communication & Work Style

• Strong written communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and proactively in ambiguous environments
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a bias toward experimentation and execution
• Ability to raise concerns and clarify requirements before issues escalate

Nice to Have

• Experience building applications powered directly by LLMs
• Experience with GCP services such as Cloud Run, Firestore, Postgres, Pub/Sub, and IAM
• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, or custom orchestration systems
• Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform or similar tools
• Strong visual and UI design sensibility
