Overview / Job Description

SemiAnalysis is hiring a Frontend Engineer (WordPress) to own, maintain, and enhance the technical foundation of its WordPress platform, supporting over 200,000 subscribers and institutional clients worldwide.

This role is responsible for developing custom WordPress solutions, translating designs into production-ready interfaces, optimizing website performance, and integrating modern frontend technologies such as React and Next.js. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with designers and engineering teams while owning the website architecture from development through deployment.

Responsibilities

WordPress Development

• Own and maintain the SemiAnalysis WordPress codebase
• Develop and enhance custom themes, templates, Gutenberg blocks, and plugins
• Build reusable, component-based WordPress solutions
• Model dynamic content using ACF Pro, custom post types, and flexible content structures

Frontend Development

• Convert Figma designs into responsive, production-ready web pages
• Build clean, semantic, and pixel-perfect frontend interfaces
• Integrate React and Next.js applications into the WordPress platform
• Develop scalable and maintainable frontend components

Performance & Optimization

• Optimize website performance using Core Web Vitals best practices
• Improve image handling, lazy loading, caching, CDN configuration, and asset optimization
• Ensure responsive design across browsers and devices
• Maintain WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility compliance

Integrations & Engineering

• Build and maintain integrations with analytics, CRM, email, subscription, and payment platforms
• Optimize WordPress queries and REST API integrations
• Participate in Git-based development workflows, pull requests, and CI/CD processes
• Collaborate with designers and cross-functional teams throughout development

Requirements

Experience

• Proven experience as a WordPress Frontend Engineer
• Portfolio demonstrating custom WordPress development projects (beyond page builders)
• Experience building custom WordPress themes using starter frameworks such as _s, Sage/Roots, or equivalent
• Experience developing Gutenberg blocks using React and ACF
• Experience with ACF Pro, custom post types, REST APIs, and WordPress optimization
• Experience working with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines
• May be required to complete a paid 1–2 week work trial during the interview process

Skills & Competencies

• Strong proficiency in PHP 8.x
• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and SCSS
• Experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript
• Strong understanding of WordPress architecture and frontend development
• Knowledge of responsive and mobile-first development
• Expertise in Core Web Vitals optimization
• Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards
• Familiarity with REST API integration
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Ability to translate Figma designs into production-ready interfaces
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
