Overview / Job Description

WorkFlex is seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer (AI-First) to join its fully remote Engineering team. The company develops a platform that automates global compliance for business travel, workations, and international assignments, leveraging AI-powered development workflows to build scalable, secure software.

This role is designed for engineers who embrace AI-assisted development and enjoy working across the full technology stack. As part of a small autonomous product team, you’ll collaborate with Product Managers to design, develop, secure, and deploy cloud-based applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and TypeScript while utilizing modern AI tools to maximize productivity.

Responsibilities

Full-Stack Software Development

• Develop and maintain full-stack applications using Java (Spring Boot) and Angular (TypeScript)
• Balance backend and frontend development based on project needs
• Build scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions
• Deliver high-quality code across the full application stack

Product Ownership

• Collaborate with Product Managers to shape product direction and feature development
• Take ownership of product decisions and technical implementation
• Contribute to an autonomous engineering team focused on business outcomes
• Participate in end-to-end product development

AI-Driven Engineering

• Utilize AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Lovable
• Guide AI agents to accelerate software development workflows
• Optimize engineering productivity through prompt engineering and AI-assisted coding
• Continuously improve AI-driven development practices

System Architecture & Security

• Design scalable application architecture
• Implement secure coding practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Protect sensitive global compliance data through security-focused engineering
• Consider modern security threats and apply best practices

Cloud & Deployment

• Participate in system design, cloud infrastructure, and application deployment
• Support the complete software development lifecycle from design to production
• Maintain reliable and scalable cloud-based systems

Requirements

Experience

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience building full-stack applications
• Experience with AI-assisted software development is preferred
• Experience delivering production-ready software solutions

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java
• Experience with Spring Boot
• Strong knowledge of Angular
• Proficiency in TypeScript
• Experience with cloud-based application development
• Knowledge of software architecture and system design
• Understanding of secure software development practices
