Overview / Job Description

SafetyWing is building a global social safety net for remote workers by providing health insurance, travel insurance, retirement, and digital citizenship products that transcend national borders. As a fully remote company, SafetyWing aims to create equal opportunities for people regardless of where they live.

The General Manager, Nomad Insurance will lead the company’s flagship insurance product line, overseeing Nomad Essential, Nomad Complete, and Nomad Citizen. This executive leadership role combines product management, business strategy, growth leadership, operations, and people management, with full ownership of the product’s performance and long-term success.

The successful candidate will define product strategy, drive customer growth, lead cross-functional teams, manage key stakeholder relationships, and execute the vision of scaling Nomad Insurance from $30 million to $300 million while contributing to SafetyWing’s mission of building a global social safety net.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Ownership

• Own the overall strategy, performance, and success of the Nomad Insurance product line
• Define product vision, goals, and long-term roadmap
• Prioritize product features and continuous improvements
• Ensure alignment between product strategy and company objectives
• Drive sustainable product growth and innovation

Growth & Business Leadership

• Lead initiatives to grow Nomad Insurance revenue and market adoption
• Develop strategies to scale products across different stages of maturity
• Identify new business opportunities and market expansion initiatives
• Monitor product performance and achieve growth objectives
• Balance strategic planning with operational execution

Customer Experience

• Serve as the voice of the customer throughout product development
• Ensure exceptional customer experiences across all insurance products
• Build products that address the needs of digital nomads and remote workers
• Continuously improve customer satisfaction and product value

Team Leadership & Management

• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams including Product, Growth, Engineering, and Design
• Foster a productive, collaborative, and positive team culture
• Align teams around a shared vision and strategic priorities
• Support employee development and high performance

Stakeholder Management

• Build and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate across departments to ensure successful product execution
• Communicate strategic priorities and product vision effectively
• Ensure alignment between business objectives and operational activities

Experience

• Experience in Product Management, entrepreneurship, or a related leadership role
• Proven experience leading products, businesses, or high-growth initiatives
