Virtustant is recruiting on behalf of a healthcare organization focused on providing mental health services and support.This is a full-time remote Healthcare Billing and Coding Specialist role responsible for overseeing billing operations, managing claims processes, and ensuring accurate healthcare billing practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mental health billing, healthcare coding, and claims management, with the potential to supervise and guide the billing team.

Responsibilities

Healthcare Billing & Coding

• Oversee healthcare billing operations and ensure billing accuracy
• Manage coding processes in compliance with healthcare billing standards
• Ensure proper documentation and coding procedures are followed
• Maintain high standards of billing accuracy and compliance

Claims Management

• Manage insurance claims from submission through resolution
• Ensure timely claim submissions and follow-up activities
• Monitor claim status and address claim-related issues
• Work to reduce claim denials and payment delays
• Support claims reconciliation and resolution processes

Billing Operations & Compliance

• Ensure billing procedures align with industry standards and regulations
• Monitor billing workflows for accuracy and efficiency
• Identify and resolve billing discrepancies
• Support continuous improvement of billing processes

Team Leadership & Oversight

• Oversee and support the billing team
• Provide guidance on billing and claims-related matters
• Help maintain quality standards across billing operations
• Support team performance and operational effectiveness

Requirements

Experience

• Extensive experience in healthcare billing and coding
• Strong background in mental health billing
• Experience managing healthcare claims processes
• Experience working within healthcare revenue cycle operations
• Experience overseeing or supporting billing teams is preferred
