Overview / Job Description

Blue Oak Consulting is hiring a Junior Web Developer to build clean, functional user interfaces for dashboards and internal tools that support the company’s economic analysis services. This fully remote role focuses on frontend development, reusable component creation, performance optimization, and collaboration with senior developers.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, enjoys solving technical problems, and is eager to grow through mentorship while contributing to data-driven web applications.

Responsibilities

Frontend Development

• Build user interfaces for data-intensive dashboards using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Translate design mockups into responsive, functional web components
• Develop clean, maintainable, and reusable frontend code
• Expand the internal library of reusable components

Performance & Maintenance

• Monitor and improve the performance of existing web applications
• Identify and resolve bugs, layout inconsistencies, and browser compatibility issues
• Ensure interfaces remain responsive and visually consistent

Data Visualization

• Refine data visualization components based on feedback from economic analysts
• Support the development of dashboards that present complex economic data clearly

Collaboration & Documentation

• Collaborate with the technical lead and development team
• Participate in code reviews and continuous code improvement
• Update and maintain technical documentation
• Follow established development standards and best practices

Requirements

Experience

• Entry-level to 0–2 years of web development experience
• Exposure to Git version control (preferred)
• Basic understanding of REST APIs (preferred)
• Familiarity with React (preferred but not required)

Skills & Competencies

• Solid foundation in HTML5 and CSS3
• Basic knowledge of JavaScript and DOM manipulation
• Strong attention to detail and visual consistency
• Logical problem-solving skills
• Understanding of responsive web design principles
• Knowledge of web accessibility best practices
• Ability to write clean and maintainable code
• Strong communication skills for remote collaboration
• Preference for simple, practical, and functional development solutions

• No formal degree required
