Overview / Job Description

Sagan represents a growing U.S.-based personal injury law firm that advocates for individuals and families affected by serious injuries and wrongful death. The firm handles complex litigation matters and takes cases through trial rather than focusing exclusively on settlement.

The Remote Paralegal will take ownership of the discovery process across active litigation cases. The role combines legal drafting, litigation support, document management, case analysis, and direct client communication.

The ideal candidate is a bilingual English/Spanish paralegal with strong U.S. civil litigation and discovery experience who is highly detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working directly with clients while supporting attorneys on complex cases.

Responsibilities:

Discovery & Legal Drafting

  • Draft written discovery for attorney review
  • Prepare interrogatories
  • Prepare requests for production
  • Prepare requests for admission
  • Draft discovery responses
  • Track discovery deadlines
  • Calendar meet-and-confer obligations
  • Support attorneys throughout the discovery process

Records & Case Analysis

  • Request medical records
  • Organize medical records
  • Summarize medical records
  • Request and organize billing records
  • Request and organize employment records
  • Request and organize police records
  • Build case chronologies
  • Prepare damages summaries
  • Prepare deposition digests

Document Review & Production

  • Support document review
  • Assist with document production
  • Apply Bates numbering
  • Prepare privilege logs
  • Organize case documentation
  • Maintain accurate litigation records

Client Communication

  • Communicate directly with Spanish-speaking clients
  • Assist clients with document collection
  • Provide case updates
  • Conduct general client check-ins
  • Communicate professionally and empathetically
  • Help clients understand document-related requirements

Translation

  • Translate legal and case-related documents between English and Spanish
  • Translate client communications
  • Support bilingual communication between attorneys and clients
  • Maintain accuracy and professionalism in translated materials

Requirements:

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience
  • Experience supporting U.S. civil litigation
  • Hands-on discovery drafting experience
  • Experience preparing discovery responses
  • Strong litigation support experience
  • Understanding of U.S. civil procedure
  • Understanding of U.S. discovery processes
