GR8_TECH is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable backend systems that power its iGaming platform. This role involves owning complex backend features from architecture through production deployment while mentoring engineers, driving engineering best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced backend developer with deep expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, microservices, and cloud-native technologies.

Responsibilities

Backend Development & Software Architecture

• Design and develop scalable, resilient backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Build, test, debug, and maintain complex backend applications.
• Own features from requirements gathering through implementation, deployment, and production monitoring.
• Resolve complex technical issues, including performance bottlenecks and architectural improvements.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

System Design & Performance

• Design distributed systems using microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Improve system resilience and maintainability through architectural best practices.
• Contribute to long-term technical strategy and platform evolution.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Collaborate with product, design, and operations teams to define technical solutions.
• Communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, and implementation progress.
• Participate in architecture discussions and engineering planning.

Mentorship & Code Quality

• Mentor junior and mid-level backend engineers.
• Conduct detailed code reviews to maintain engineering standards, security, and code quality.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on backend engineering experience.
• Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale backend systems.
