Overview / Job Description

Coalition Technologies is a fully remote digital marketing agency seeking a highly skilled Remote WordPress Developer to build, customize, maintain, and optimize WordPress websites for a diverse client portfolio. The company has supported remote professionals for over a decade and offers a collaborative, growth-focused work environment.

The WordPress Developer will be responsible for developing custom WordPress themes and plugins, integrating third-party tools, optimizing website performance, implementing SEO and conversion rate optimization (CRO) best practices, and delivering responsive, high-quality websites. Responsibilities

WordPress Development

• Develop, maintain, and customize WordPress websites.
• Build custom WordPress themes and plugins.
• Migrate websites from other platforms to WordPress.
• Integrate third-party plugins such as WooCommerce, WPML, Membership plugins, and similar tools.
• Develop WordPress websites that are easily manageable through the admin dashboard.

Website Performance & Optimization

• Optimize WordPress websites for speed and overall performance.
• Implement SEO and conversion rate optimization (CRO) best practices.
• Perform database and code optimization to improve website efficiency.
• Ensure websites meet accessibility and web standards.

Front-End Development

• Convert PSD designs into pixel-perfect HTML5/CSS3 templates.
• Build responsive, mobile-friendly, and cross-browser-compatible websites.
• Develop interactive functionality using JavaScript and AJAX.

Backend Development

• Work with PHP and MySQL to develop and maintain WordPress functionality.
• Retrieve data using WPGraphQL and the WordPress REST API.
• Work within LAMP development environments.

Project Management & Collaboration

• Manage multiple development projects simultaneously.
• Deliver high-quality work while meeting deadlines.
• Collaborate effectively within a diverse remote team.
• Utilize version control systems such as Git or SVN.

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of WordPress development experience.
• Extensive experience with custom WordPress theme and plugin development.
• Experience integrating WordPress plugins including WooCommerce, WPML, Membership plugins, and similar tools.
• Experience optimizing WordPress websites for performance and SEO.
• Experience working with WPGraphQL or the WordPress REST API.
• Experience using Git or SVN for version control is preferred.
• Experience with WooCommerce development, Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, ReactJS, or AngularJS is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of the WordPress platform and architecture.
• Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and AJAX.
• Strong understanding of responsive web design principles.
• Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility techniques.
• Familiarity with W3C standards, semantic HTML, and accessibility guidelines.
• Strong database and code optimization skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Work Schedule

• Full-time.
• Monday–Friday.
• 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Pacific Time (PT).
